Renastart is a high energy, powdered formula with low levels of protein, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, chloride and vitamin A, containing whey protein, amino acids, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, minerals, trace elements, arachidonic acid (ARA) & docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

For the dietary management of kidney disease from birth to 10 years of age.

Renastart is a Food for Special Medical Purposes designed specifically for the dietary management of paediatric kidney disease. 
Use under medical supervision.

Renastart can be used in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). 

Renastart must be used in conjunction with breast milk, standard infant formula, standard paediatric enteral feeds or
with permitted foods conjuction upon the age and medical condition of the child.

Renastart can be used alone (for a short time only) to decrease a moderate to severely high serum potassium level,
as determined by a Healthcare Professional.

Renastart can be given as a tube feed or as a drink.

 

Dosage and Administration:
To be determined by the clinician or dietitian and is dependant upon the age, body weight & medical condition of the patient.
Use in conjunction with breast milk or infant formula or standard paediatric enteral feed or a mixed diet. 

Preparation Guidelines:
The standard dilution of 20% is made by adding 1 level scoop of Renastart (7g) to 30ml of water (approximately 1 fluid oz).
The scoop is found inside the tin.

Use under medical supervision. Not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition. Suitable from birth to 10 years of age. Regular monitoring of nutritional status and electrolyte levels is required. For enteral use only.
